The image shows a picturesque urban scene at sunset, featuring the historical Bologna cityscape. A large domed building with a greenish-blue roof dominates the center, partially lit by the warm hues of the setting sun. The surrounding buildings are adorned with classical architecture, detailed facades, and shuttered windows. The foreground features ornate wrought-iron balcony railings and the street appears narrow, creating a cozy, old-town atmosphere. Snow dusts the rooftops, hinting at a winter setting.

POSTCARD FROM BOLOGNA!

Greetings from Bologna

My fellow explorers!

I am standing in the heart of Piazza Maggiore, savoring a cannoli while the sun sets over the Fontana del Nettuno. I wish you could all feel the awe inspired by the majestic buildings that surround us. I keep imagining the Il Cinema Ritrovato Festival that transforms this magnificent square, with a huge screen set up for that very purpose.

I’ll continue exploring the city, sipping espresso and munching on focaccia. Who could possibly stop me from visiting every charcuterie in sight? No one, I say!

I hope to bump into you in one of the city’s UNESCO-listed porticoes or looking to the Finistrella, on this card!

Arrivederci, amici!

This photo captures the charming view of the hidden canal from the Finestrella di Via Piella in Bologna, often referred to as the city's "Little Venice." The canal, lined with brightly colored terracotta buildings in shades of orange and red, reflects the vibrant architecture and the serene, narrow waterway running between them. The tranquil scene showcases the contrast between the peaceful water and the urban structures above, with shuttered windows, small balconies, and green plants clinging to the buildings. It's a rare and picturesque glimpse into Bologna's historical canal system, a remnant of the city's rich past.
